The Planning & Zoning Commission is pleased to post a draft of Chapters 1-5 of the 2026 Plan of Conservation & Development (2026 POCD) for the Darien community. A full draft of the 2026 POCD (i.e. Chapters 1-9) will be posted on May 7. Chapters 6-9 are the substantive, topical chapters of the POCD, which are listed in the outline included in a prior post.

The following is the schedule until the public hearing in September:

• May 7: Full Draft 2026 POCD to be posted to website for public review
• May 12: P&Z Commission Meeting. Presentation of Draft 2026 POCD
• May 30: Public comment period on Draft 2026 POCD ends
• June 10: Revised Draft 2026 POCD to be posted to website
• June 30: Final Draft 2026 POCD for referral and public hearing
• July 9: Referrals to Board of Selectmen, WestCOG (at least 65 days prior to hearing)
• Aug 10: Post Final 2026 POCD to website (at least 35 days to public hearing)
• Sept 15: Public Hearing
