Welcome! Over the next year, the Town will be asking you to think about Darien today and into the future and to share your thoughts. The Town is embarking on a process to update its 2016 Plan of Conservation & Development (POCD), which will culminate in the preparation and adoption of a 2026 POCD.

A POCD is a guidance document that establishes a long-term vision for the future of a community. It contains goals, policies, and recommendations for investing in the physical, economic, social, and environmental aspects of a community in accordance with that vision.

To stay up to date, subscribe to this website. In the coming weeks and months we will post more information on community participation opportunities. This information will also be shared in the Town Newsletter and Facebook page. If you’re ready to get involved, there’s no need to wait! Reach out through the Contact Us page:

• Questions. Do you have any questions about POCDs or the POCD update process?
• Thoughts or Ideas. Do you have any thoughts about or ideas for the future of Darien?
• Volunteer. If you’d like to help out in any way, let us know. For example, we might need assistance distributing promotional materials and posters around town.
• Photos. If you’ve taken photos of Darien and would like to share them for potential posting on the website and/or use in the 2026 POCD document, let us know. Credits will be included for any photos that are published.
